PROJECTSArt projects will be completed during art. Students are responsible for maintaining appropriate use of class time in order to complete assignments on the date it is due. All projects are due on the scheduled due date. If you have not completed your work, you have up to 5 days to complete your art without penalty. Everyday thereafter, a half grade will be deducted from your final grade. Sketchbooks count as a project grade.

PORTFOLIO
Students will create a paper portfolio in art class. All projects will be placed inside your portfolio for grading. Be Creative! Let your creativity shine! SKETCHBOOKThe sketchbook will serve as a project grade. Assignments will be given to students during art class. It is the responsibility of the student to stay organized, keep on track and take-home their sketchbook assignments for homework if they are not completed during art class.
Sketchbooks should be at least (8 1/2" X 11") ~ (9" X 12") is preferred. There will be a sketchbook check at the end of the quarter that will count as a project grade. Students are responsible for keeping a clean and organized sketchbook that holds all hand-outs, notes, and sketches (in and out of class). The sketchbooks are intended to be re-used each year. Therefore, a spiral-bound or hard-bound sketchbook is suggested because it is more sturdy and less likely to fall apart. ORGANIZING YOUR SKETCHBOOK![]()

PSYCHOLOGY OF COLORStudents will watch Disney Pixar Studios animated movie, "Inside Out," and complete the Psychology of Color Color Wheel Packet. In this packet, students will create/interpret their own Psychology of Color Color Wheels in response to the emotions of Joy, Anger, Fear, Disgust and Sadness found in the movie. Students will begin to explore/investigate/discover create their own characters representing a mood/emotion and color associated with their creations. This mini-unit can serve as a pre-cursor to story-boarding and character design presented in foundational studies of animation and production of advertising associated with an animation company.
